Recent additions to the Crail Ranch collection…Women’s authentic western riding chaps were displayed this summer with other western tack and ranching parphenalia in the small cabin. The chaps belonged to Patti Goodrich of the 320 Ranch, and were donated to Crail Ranch by her daugher, Gail Walma. Gail’s dad Jim Goodrich outfitted pack trips out of the Crail Ranch when it was part of the Lone Mountain Ranch.  Gail recalls staying at Crail Ranch as a young girl in the 1950s.

Big Sky residents Randy and Beth Van Horn donated a Singer sewing machine with patent marks indicating that it was manufactured between 1891 and 1913. It is a treadle-operated machine, similar to one that belonged to Beth’s mother and on which Beth learned to sew.

The kerosene lamp, shown in the picture with the sewing machine, was donated by Dale and Kristin Lucas. A steamer trunk from the early 1900s was donated by the Mistretta family. It is on display on the second floor landing of the main cabin.

All of these items were donated by some of our faithful and generous donors.  See Donor List
