4th of July Celebration

The Big Sky Community Organization is excited to host its annual Fourth of July Celebration again this year on Monday, July 4th.  Join us throughout the morning for family-friendly activities, all showcasing Big Sky’s beautiful Community Park and raising funds to help keep our parks & trails maintained and beautiful!  All proceeds from the 4th of July go towards the BSCO Parks.

 An all-American lunch will be served from 11:30 to 12:30 pm for $5 with burgers, dogs & a side and includes lemonade or iced tea. 

 We are also happy to host the American Legion and Sons of the American Legion post #99 of Big Sky for a special event this year.  They will be raffling off a custom handmade “3 Tours Quilt” to raise funds for the American Legion at noon on the 4th of July during the lunch hour, and will be selling raffle tickets throughout the morning. 

 5K Race:

Race starts at 8:30 am

Enjoy the beautiful scenery of Big Sky and majestic Lone Peak at the BSCO’s annual 4th of July 5K Race!  The 5K starts at the Big Sky Community Park and follows Little Coyote Road West, looping around the Big Sky Golf Course and finishing back at the Community Park.  The majority of the race is on paved road with a short 50-yard stretch of gravel.

Register in advance at www.racemontana.com for $22 per participant, or day-of registration starts at 7:30 am at the Big Sky Community Park and is $25 per participant.

 Disc Golf Tournament:

Tournament starts at 10:00 am; registration open until 9:45 am

·         9:30am Registration begins at start of course – $15 registration fee includes voucher for free pint at Beehive Basin Brewery

·         10:00am Tournament start/Announcement of rules and teams

·         12:00pm BBQ at Community Park

·         1:00pm Awards at Beehive Basin Brewery

 Kid’s Activities:

Open to the public from 9:30 am until noon.

Face painting, a 1K Fun Run and field games for the little ones!  Based out of the Yurt at the Community Park and always exciting, the team leading Camp Big Sky for the summer will be hosting the Kid’s Activities once again this year!  These activities are complimentary for all kids, but donations to the BSCO and parks are gladly accepted.

 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament:

Tournament starts at 9:30 am; registration open until 9:15 am.

Teams of up to 4 players compete on the outdoor court for champion of the 4th of July 3-on-3 basketball tournament!  A great event for players and spectators alike, this annual tournament always draws an enthusiastic crowd.  Bring your lawn chairs or blankets to kick back and watch the fun!

 Home Run Derby:

Derby starts at 12:15; open to public; limit of 20 participants.

A crowd favorite!  Grab your lunch and sit in the stands to watch your favorite All Stars aim for the fence.  BYOB (Bring Your Own Bat).

 Skate Park Jam:

Open to the public all day

One of Montana’s most unique skate parks in one of the most beautiful settings in the entire state! 

BSCO Public Trails

BSCO manages 23+ miles of trails that are all multi-use and multi-directional.

The majority of BSCO trails are open year-round, barring any temporary seasonal hazard closures.

= Groomed or plowed during the winter.Note: Ungroomed / plowed trails are still open & get packed down by use.
