Mission: We build strong minds, bodies, character, and communities through cycling.

NICA inspires friendship, joy, and adventure.
NICA believes everyone should be able to participate in our programs and feel welcomed, respected, and supported.
NICA is committed to fair treatment, equal access, opportunity, advancement, and elimination of barriers to encourage participation for all.
NICA expects consideration for all others, oneself, and the outdoors.
NICA unites diverse people, families, and communities through cycling by creating fun and welcoming experiences.
Montana NICA Program
Our vision is to improve the lives of Montana’s youth and communities through cycling. Our Mission is to provide high quality, safe and fun mountain bike programs for Montana’s youth, exposing students to the opportunity to build strong body, mind, and character through an equal and inclusive scholastic-based program.
The Montana Interscholastic Cycling League was founded in 2017 as a Project League of the National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA). They facilitate the development of high school and middle school teams/clubs for grades 6-12 and provide the education, training, licensing, and insurance for coaches and volunteers.
NICA focuses on producing high-quality mountain bike events and races that emphasize the value of participation, camaraderie, positive sporting behavior, and well-being over competition.
NICA Big Sky
Big Sky currently offers Composite Teams
These teams are comprised of full-time students from more than one high-school, charter school or homeschool within the same district or other geographic proximity. Composite Team Limitations: Composite Teams are intended to be temporary solutions toward building school-based teams. High School students may only score for a composite team that has 5 or less students from the same school. If 6 or more students from one school race on a composite team, those students will be scored separately from the rest of the composite team unless a petition to do otherwise is approved.
