Facilities

BASE was designed as a flexible, welcoming space where the Big Sky community can stay active, learn new skills, and gather year-round. Inside the facility you’ll find a full gymnasium for sports and recreation, a workout facility, climbing and bouldering walls, and dedicated spaces for fitness and wellness programs. BASE also includes the Wolfe Den toddler room, a child play area, meeting and classroom spaces, and open gathering areas that support diverse programs led by BSCO and local community partners.

BASE is a Program of Big Sky Community Organization

BASE — which stands for Big Adventure Safe Environment — is Big Sky’s first dedicated community and recreation center and a key program of Big Sky Community Organization. Opened in 2022, BASE was created to expand year-round opportunities for recreation, wellness, and connection in Big Sky.

Operated by BSCO, the facility brings together fitness, youth programs, community events, and indoor recreation under one roof, helping residents of all ages stay active, learn new skills, and connect with one another.

Punch Passes & Gym Memberships

BASE Punch Passes offer flexible access to the BASE Community Center for individuals who prefer to visit on their own schedule. Each punch provides full-day access to the facility, making it a great option for occasional visitors, guests, or community members who want to enjoy BASE programs and amenities without committing to a monthly membership.

Punches may be used by anyone, making this pass ideal for sharing with friends, family, or visiting guests. Each individual must complete the required facility waiver before using BASE.

Family Pass
The Family Pass provides unlimited access to BASE for families living at the same address, making it easy for parents and kids to stay active year-round.

MONTANA Summer Camp

Camp Big Sky 2026

Camp Big Sky is BSCO’s signature summer day camp designed for Big Sky kids to explore, play, and build friendships throughout the summer. Each week features outdoor adventures, creative projects, games, and activities that encourage curiosity, teamwork, and confidence while enjoying Big Sky’s parks and open spaces.

Pioneers (6yrs-9yrs): $200/week
Explorers (10yrs-13yrs): $225/week
After-Care Options: Monday – Thursday, 3:30p-5:30p, $80/week

Wolfe Den Drop-In

Toddler Drop-In gives parents and caregivers the flexibility to enjoy a workout or fitness class while their little ones play in a safe, supervised environment. Hosted in the Wolfe Den at BASE, children can explore, socialize, and have fun while you take time for yourself.

Days: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays
Time: 8:30am–11:30am
Ages: 1–5 years old
Cost: $15 per 1.5 hours

BSCO recreation leagues bring the Big Sky community together through friendly competition and shared experiences. Whether you’re joining a team for the season or dropping in for pickup play, our leagues are designed for athletes of all skill levels. From ice sports like hockey and curling to indoor games like volleyball and futsal, these leagues offer a fun way to stay active, meet people, and build community throughout the year.

Are scholarships available for BSCO programs?

Yes. BSCO offers scholarship opportunities to help ensure community members of all backgrounds can participate in programs and recreation activities. Scholarships are currently available for the BASE Pass, Camp Big Sky (applications due April 1), and BASEcamp Afterschool Programs.

If you are in need of financial assistance, please complete the BSCO Scholarship Application and submit the required documentation to scholarship@bsco.org for evaluation. Our goal is to make BSCO programs accessible so everyone in the Big Sky community has the opportunity to participate.

Do I need experience to join a BASE program or league?

No experience is required. Many BSCO fitness classes, recreation leagues, and sports programs are designed to welcome participants of all skill levels—from beginners looking to get active to experienced athletes wanting to stay competitive. Whether you’re joining a yoga class at BASE, signing up for a softball or volleyball league, or getting on the ice for pickup hockey, BSCO programs focus on staying active, building skills, and enjoying sport in a supportive community environment.

How do I cancel my BASE membership, and is there a cancellation fee?

Memberships may be canceled according to the terms outlined at sign-up. Cancellation policies and any applicable fees depend on the membership type. Please contact the front desk for assistance reviewing your specific agreement.

Are hockey nets available for open skate or shooting practice at the Marty Pavelich Ice Rink?

Hockey nets are typically available during designated open hockey times or pickup sessions at the Marty Pavelich Ice Rink. Availability may vary depending on league play, weather conditions, or special programming. Please check the rink schedule before arriving.

Does BASE offer membership discounts for resort workers, seniors, military members, or individuals with disabilities?

BASE offers select discounted membership options for qualifying individuals, including members of the local workforce and seniors. Scholarship assistance is also available to help keep recreation accessible. Please contact the front desk for current eligibility details.

Can I rent space or host a class in the BASE art room or community rooms?

Yes. BASE offers flexible community rental spaces, including rooms suitable for classes, workshops, meetings, and events. Contact our team to inquire about availability, rental rates, and booking details.

Are BASE day passes valid for 24 hours or until closing that day?

BASE day passes are valid for the day of purchase and expire at closing time that same day. They do not extend for 24 hours from the time of purchase. If you plan to visit multiple times, a punch pass or monthly membership may be a better option.

What youth programs and childcare options are available at BASE?

BASE offers year-round youth programs, including after-school care (BASEmint), seasonal camps such as Camp Big Sky, youth sports leagues, and skill-building programs. Select childcare options are available during program hours. Visit our Youth Programs page for current offerings.

What fitness equipment and machines are available at the BASE fitness center?

The BASE fitness center includes a full range of cardio and strength-training equipment for all levels. You’ll find treadmills, stationary bikes, rowing machines, and ellipticals, along with free weights, squat racks, cable machines, and functional training equipment.

How do I sign up for GROUP fitness classes at BASE?

You can sign up for BASE group fitness classes online through our scheduling platform or in person at the front desk. Some classes allow drop-ins, while others require advance registration due to capacity limits. We recommend reserving your spot ahead of time.
